Social Enterprises are defined in many ways but typically are nonprofit organizations that utilize business models in order to generate revenue and fulfill the nonprofit’s mission.  This revenue helps reduce dependency on government and philanthropic funding, thus ensuring the nonprofit’s sustainability.
